Online shopping <3

Online shopping will be the death of my bank account, but it is sooo worth it. I definitely just bought over $100 worth of clothing. :)

Somtimes

Life can be so fantastic, but so confusing all at once.

Finally did it!

I got my belly button pierced along with Haileigh at First Place Tattoos! :D

I love life's little adventures.

This summer has been such a great one. I'm glad, because I want a nice college send-off. I went to a little going away party for Christina since she is now in Europe. I also got a taste of my first ever LAN party! :P I won't lie, it was actually pretty interesting. If I get better at Warcraft 3 I will totally join in on the fun. Richie and I hung out on Friday and he bought me some ice cream from DQ. :) Saturday I went with Haileigh to Jacktown in Bangor, PA where we pretty much got to act like we were five. I went out to lunch with my mom, and we did some college shopping! I won't lie, it was a little weird. I got a ton of cute stuff, but it just set in that day that I'm gonig away. Today was equally awesome. Haileigh took me to the Viaduct in Blairstown. It's basically one giant art project/ Post Secret book in real life.

These past few weeks I have done the following:

-Saw Bruno.

-Went to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

-Got my classes for school and took placement tests.

-Went to Blue Mountain Lake with Haileigh and saw HP again.

Tally Hall...on a boat! :D

So these past few days have been fantastic. I'm glad summer is working out so well! After work the other day I slept over Haileigh's house. This meant I FINALLY got to see my friend Gabby! :D Old Navy has pretty much made her their slave, so we often find few days to hang out. The next day we set out for Blue Mountain Lake, possibly the most scenic place I've ever been to. We swam, went cliff/rock jumping, met some new people whose names we did not actually discover, and we even got some pizza later! All in all it was a great day, and I even went bowling later.

Now, this next event was something fantastic as well. I saw Tally Hall for the second time right? Well, this time they were on a boat! :D I drove with Christina and Ben to the Dover bus station (after being a little lost hehe), and we caught a bus to Port Authority. I navigated us through the subway system to 23rd and F.D.R., then Ben spotted the Half Moon (the ship where the performance was). Let me just say this...I fucking love Tally Hall. Their opening band was April Smith and The Great Picture Show. Soooo cute!

My favorite songs of hers were "Terrible Things" and "Colors". She had a great voice, and also note that she was using Ross, Tally Hall's drummer, as hers. Love it. Later on Christina and I befriended Marty O'Kane, that really cute one next to April! At long last Tally Hall came on, and I was ecstatic. I had seen them once before, but never at a venue like this, and you can never get tired of them. They're different at every show! The played a bunch of new songs, and covered "Happy Together" along with "Just A Friend", of course. In between songs they'd do a little beat boxing and they played my favorite song by them EVER, "Spring and a Storm".

After the show we rushed to the lower deck and struck up conversation with the bands. I also did this the last time, but this time was pretty epic. My camera was dying so we took epic pictures on Christina's camera. This is why I love Tally Hall.

Battleship anyone? He was totally cheating.

Joe is the love of my life <3.

Rob, Zubin, and I created a human pretzel.

Andrew and I, he is so cute! :)

Our new friend Marty! :D

This was after the show on the walk to the subway. I enjoy it, because Ben and I look so badass and seems like it should be an album cover. We got back to Port Authority and grabbed food, then we caught the bus. I just took 80 home to make life easy, and dropped everyone off. Such a good night. Tally Hall in New York City is an equation for success. Oh and thanks Christina for the with the band pictures and this last one!

Then last night I went mini golfing with Haileigh and Amanda Haar! :D I won!

Current musical obsessions.

"7 Stars" by The Apples in Stereo

"Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant

"Saint John" by Cold War Kids

"High Anxiety" by The Suicide Machines

"Lost At Birth" by Public Enemy

"Betty" by The Mad Caddies

"Xavia" by The Submarines

"It Must Be Love" by Madness

"It's Like That" by Run-DMC

"Two Cups of Tea" by Star Fucking Hipsters

"Take Me to the Riot" by Stars

There are so many more, and many I have listened to for awhile. But you know how sometimes you stumble upon them again and cannot get enough of them? Well that has happened, so listen to them and enjoy!

Show me the way.

I think I'm finally understanding a few things about myself, and my relationships with everyone. For the first time in a long time I am sitting here almost 100% carefree, and it's rather exciting. I stayed up until five in the morning talking to my friend, and it had to have been the most honest and interesting couple of hours of my life. It's funny how you can hear the same bit of advice over and over, but suddenly one person tells it to you in his or her own way and it suddenly clicks. Why is that? I feel like some people just convey the message better than others. It's true when they say some people can just be two peas in a pod.

High school graduate.

I'm officially done with high school! It's a little crazy, because it went by so fast. I had a lot of fun, and this summer will be fantastic. :)

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Graduation is coming.

You start off high school thinking it will last forever, graduation is never looming near. This is such a lie, because senior year literally flew by. I had so much fun, even despite all the drama and sad parts. As much as I don't particularly enjoy HHS, I will miss it. We had graduation practice today and it finally hit me that this is it. Now my future begins. I'm excited. :)

Freshman year? Jeez.

Excellent weekend. :)

I went to the city with Richie again on Friday! We rode in on the NJ Transit from Dover right into Penn Station. We went to Washington Square Park, Tompkins Square and Tompkins Square Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights where we ate at a Subway, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, and the New York Aquarium! It was sooooo much fun. Saturday I drove down the Garden State Parkway for the first time to go to Seaside with my best friends! The whole weekend was amazing, but I spent so much money. I was worth the memories! <3

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

I really...

Just want to graduate.

So.

I don't write in here much anymore! I've failed to mention fun things I've been up to! Such as the city with Richie that went from the MoMA to the Queensboro Bridge, my failed attempt at donating blood, Katie's party, a fun day of Wii and Cold Stone cake for Richie's birthday :), a sleepover with Christina, adventures to get good ice cream and paint/writing a screenplay with Haileigh, Stephen State Park and Rita's with Richie, Ben Turner, and Emily, and a little DMV adventure with Richie! May has been a good month, and it keeps getting better.

Spring Blooms :)

It's certainly been awhile since I last wrote! Let's just blame it on the fact that school bogs me down with endless amounts of work, and I end up passing out around ten every night. Anyway, Friday I went to the Battle of the Bands at Randolph High School since my mom was one of the judges. I'm happy to say that my favorite band won, and they're known as The Glass Bottom Boat Ride. Love that name. I also saw Grease at my school twice, and it was fantastic. I made a few tasty trips to Rita's, and then I worked. Haileigh slept over as well, it was such a girl's night! I painted her nails. :] I also made lasagna today, and I cannot wait to eat it! I'm sitting here counting down the minutes until I can.

I've been relatively good lately, although some people are hard to read. I'm certainly not in a slump like I was a little while ago, but my mind isn't free of thoughts that plague me all the time. I suppose I've just been reevaluating some aspects of my life, and I'm not sure what to think. Then again, we all do this from time to time I think. :P

Also, listen to her music. :] I love it! "I Don't Know" is my favorite.

New York One Day, Grandma's the Next.

On Thursday I went to New York City with Richie and his family! :] We drove down to Bayonne and caught the Path train right into the city. We ventured through the subway and made our way to the Central Park Zoo. The line for tickets was quite long, but that was alright. We ate hot dogs and it moved relatively quickly. Once inside, Richie and I got to split off and do what we wanted. Naturally I made him come with me to the polar bears! :D They were so adorable, I cannot even begin to explain. All of them were so lazy, lying on rocks or cuddling in caves. Let's face it, I was in love! Next we tried to scope out the red pandas, but they were hiding, so we went off to the penguins. Penguins are also the cutest ever, putting on a little show for the crowd. We saw several other animals as well, and all in all it was a nice zoo trip. I had been there once before, but it never gets old. Not to mention that was a long time ago.
We left the zoo eventually and went for a walk through Central Park. Gosh it is so beautiful there! When I'm done with college, I want to live in New York City. End of story. The rest of the day consisted of walking really, and we made our way over to Times Square. I bought myself a shirt, we ate some food, then it was time to go. I met some of Richie's relatives back in Bayonne, then he drove us all home. Oh yeah, on the subway we had a run-in with your usual "homeless/broke person" who needed money. He gave a speech about "times being hard" and "having no address". You feel bad, but deep down you don't know what to believe. A strange situation, you know?
We got back to Richie's, ate pizza, then played the Wii! I was sucking so bad at Mario Party, but I miraculously won in the end! Hahaha everyone was surprised, and we all just laughed about it. We played some other mini-games until finally Richie had to drop me off. I have some pictures that I'll put up later. Sadly, my
mom had my Nikon that day so I just used my Olympus point-and-shoot.

Today is Easter, so happy Easter everyone! :] I will be going to my grandma's where I will partake in an Easter egg hunt! Sounds lovely!

Adventureland!

Up for a good movie? Definitely go see Adventureland! Every preview I saw for it left me feeling hopeful about the outcome, and for good reason. Think of Juno-esque humor and cinematography set in the 80's at a theme park. Obviously no one is pregnant, but it's the same sort of style. Throw in Bill Hader and Jesse Eisenberg, a Michael Cera type of character, and you have a great movie. It certainly portrays youth well, and in some ways it covers some deeper issues in a light-hearted type of way. Not to mention you can never beat some romance! I know it's hard to think of Kristen Stewart outside of Twilight, but I thought she did well in this movie. One of my favorite characters was Frigo played by an actor called Matt Bush. Talk about hilarious. All in all it was money well-spent. I thoroughly enjoyed Superbad, and Adventureland was directed by Greg Mottola, the same guy.

On another note, Jesse Eisenberg was in this terrible movie called The Squid and the Whale. Try it out and see if you like it, but it's certainly depressing and the ending is pretty anti-climactic. I'm glad he was good in this movie though! :]

Along with seeing the movie, I also hung out with Kat! She finally got to watch Shaun of the Dead, a must-see for those who love British people. She had to leave at 4 for work though. :[ Later on Richie came over and we met up with Emily and Ben Turner at Frank's! We had a battle of the sexes car race to Wal*Mart, but sadly Emily and I lost. :[ Upon entering Wal*Mart, it made us realize how much we miss being kids. We played with bicycles and Nerf guns and relived the good days.

What's going on?

I have no idea, but something has to change. I don't like to sound depressing, especially on a blog (too cliche, and yes I forgot the accent mark), but lately I've been disappointed. In people, myself, a few things. We all reach a slump every now and then in our lives. You just have to wait it out basically and see where it ends up. I was talking to someone yesterday who made me feel happy. It was like a breath of fresh air in this bleak time. I also saw Haileigh on Sunday which was lovely. She is one of the most true friends I have ever made, even if we once had a falling out. We talked a lot that night, and when we look back on it the whole thing is really stupid. I'm happy to be close with her again, but I was never really gone. Both of us knew that we could rely on each other no matter what the circumstances were, and that spells out amazing friend to me.

On another note, I actually quite enjoy rainy weather <3.

It finally feels like spring!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, my favorite kind in fact! I'm glad that Christina loves to go outside and just take pictures with me! :] That is in fact what we did after eating at the Sandwich Shoppe today <3. Midterms were alright today as well. I just wish I didn't have to go to school tomorrow, it's incredibly pointless.

I actually really love the rain.

Raindrops pattering on the windowpanes is such a comforting sound. Anytime it rains all I want to do is crack open my journal and get to writing. You know, I post here more than I have written in my journal lately. This needs to change. I look back on my journals and how in-depth they were for years, then here I am barely writing a word. Tsk, tsk! I'll stick on some Modest Mouse or The Postal Service, two of my favorite rainy day bands. Maybe that will get the creative juices flowing. Along with writing the rain just gets my mind moving. I realize sometimes my personality flaws are incredibly silly. People like me for who I am, and that's that. Nothing to it. There is certainly no need for worrying, because it's all just up here in this crazy head of mine. Maybe my creativity gets the best of me. :P

By the way, HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY! :D
I managed to get Richie and Ben Turner with the untied shoes joke, I rule <3.

Productive?

So today I was actually productive! I brought Tyler his sweatpants after finally bringing my check to the bank. Then I got home, read the two criticisms for lit accompanied by one paragraph summaries for each, and I filled out my voter registration form! Throw in finishing half of my work for tomorrow along with almost finishing a scholarship essay, and you have the makings for one good day! Usually I just don't ever have the motivation to do anything I set out to do. I couldn't tell what inspired me, but I hope whatever did sticks around. I'm really just looking forward to this weekend. Richie and I are going to have fun on Friday, then Haileigh and I are having a much needed girl's night on Saturday! :] Gosh it feels good to accomplish tasks AND have something to look forward to!

Life moves fast.

So yesterday Christina and I spent the entire day playing with our wonderful cameras. We went around Mountain Lake, and when you look close enough you find the greatest stuff. People underestimate the beauty in their world that is just outside their doors. Braving the frightfully cold weather that somehow followed warm sunshine, we managed to get some great shots. Today I went to the dentist and Richie tagged along to keep me company <3.>
